I am from Sacramento, CA, and I am majoring in Biology. I grew up in Addis Ababa. I love movies and music. In my free time, I love to read and learn new recipes. I am excited and looking forward to expanding our relationship with campus groups and helping students with their career development!

Carolina Rivas is from Houston, Texas. She is currently pursuing her bachelor’s in political science and minoring in psychology. She hopes to continue her studies in law. You will see her with her friends, reading, sipping coffee, working out at the gym, or studying. She is a proud first-generation student who is passionate about supporting students at BU.

Dorothy Lolagne is an aspiring television writer pursuing her MFA in Screenwriting at BU. She grew up in Orlando, Florida where she completed her bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing at the University of Central Florida. As a graduate assistant with the student engagement team and supporting the Career Ambassador Program at the CCD, she brings her previous experience as a writing tutor for a university writing center and years of professional experience in higher education working in operations, admissions, and degree completion. In her free time, Outside of writing, Dorothy enjoys reading, watching television and film, music, dance, and walking alongside the beach during sunsets in South Florida.

Edom (she/her/hers) is a Graduate Assistant in Data Analytics at the CCD and an MSBA student at MET. Prior to joining the CCD, she held marketing positions at Amazon and the American Gastroenterological Association. Edom is passionate about utilizing data to understand how systems within educational institutions can service students to positively impact their career trajectories. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication from Cornell University and an Associate of Arts degree in Communication Studies from Montgomery College. In her free time, she loves to read sci-fi, history and mystery/thriller books, create pottery, explore and walk through Boston’s neighborhoods, and bake pastries!

Elizabeth Topete is from Chicago, Illinois, and is a senior studying Economics with double minors in Hospitality and Sociology. She is a member of BU’s Latin dance team, Sabor Latino, where she shares her passion for music and dance. Elizabeth is also a part of Chicago Scholars, an organization that supports first-generation students in navigating higher education. She is passionate about addressing disparities in the education system and promoting equity across the student body. In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys playing the violin, attending concerts, and discovering new food spots.

Elizabeth Zhan is from Lowell, Massachusetts. She is currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering at the College of Engineering and is a student in the Kilachand Honors College. In her free time, she enjoys exploring new cafes to try different matchas, visiting local bookstores, reading, playing video games, and picking up new hobbies like journaling or crafting.

Hannah Baptiste is from Brockton, MA and is currently pursuing her bachelor’s in English. In her free time, she enjoys reading, poetry, jewelry making, listening to music, and hanging out with her friends. I am from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, but I moved to New York when I was 12. I am majoring in Business Administration, and I would like to help other students adapt better to college by providing more career development resources and support. In my free time, I enjoy trying out new restaurants and desserts with my friends, I like to photograph and make videos, I like to watch movies and read books.

Joynn is currently a second-year student pursing her B.S. degree in Data Science. She grew up in mainland China and moved to Guam when she was 12. She is passionate about Data Analytics and modeling that brings compassionate values and oversee business decision-making. As an aspiring Data Analyst, she enjoys participating in analytical projects and reading industry related blogs curated to her studies. On campus, she is involved with Boston University Girls Who Code and Women in Data Science. In her free time, she enjoys fashion, city-walking, Formula 1, read & watch thriller/mystery, and traveling!

Juliette Peng is a rising junior from Belmont, Massachusetts, pursuing a dual degree in Data Science and Economics through Boston University’s Dual Degree Program. She is passionate about education and empowering underrepresented communities through mentorship and outreach. On campus, Juliette serves as a student fellow for the BU x Avanade STEM Mentorship Program, the Volunteer and Outreach Director for Alzheimer’s Buddies, and has worked as a case analyst for BizTech. In her free time, she enjoys attending concerts, exploring new restaurants, and going on spontaneous trips. Juliette is excited to continue expanding her involvement in student life at BU!

Lylah is a third-year student at Boston University majoring in Political Science and Philosophy, with minors in Business Administration and Entrepreneurship. Originally from Hyderabad, India, she brings a global perspective to her academic pursuits, with a strong interest in international affairs, law, and business. Her coursework emphasizes the intersection of law, ethics, and entrepreneurship, reflecting her passion for equitable innovation and inclusive policy development.

On campus, Lylah is actively involved in Boston University’s Lightweight Rowing team, Delta Phi Epsilon International Relations Fraternity, and the South Asian Student Association. Through these roles, she cultivates leadership, collaboration, and cross-cultural engagement, complementing her academic focus with real-world experience in teamwork and global dialogue. She has been with the Center of Career Development since Spring 2024, and hopes to continue supporting the BU student body feel confident with approaching their professional lives during undergraduate and post-graduation.

I am from Greenville, SC, but grew up close to D.C. I am studying at SHA, a part of the B.S program in Hospitality and Communications. I love to read, post on my book blog, journal, and catch up on 2000s TV shows. On campus, I am also a part of BU Fashion and Retail, BU PRSSA, and Omega Phi Alpha.

Madison Whisnant is a senior studying Economics and Mathematics who is originally from Niagara Falls, New York. On campus, Madison is the President of BU’s Undergraduate Women in Economics, and the Executive Vice President of BU’s Alpha Kappa Psi. She is also involved in several culture clubs and enjoys being involved in a multitude of student activities. She is passionate about using technology and policy to positively impact underrepresented communities, as well as strategy and econometrics. She also has interests in aeronautics and diplomacy, hoping to lead an impactful career after graduation.

Mary Dinh is a student majoring in Health Sciences in Sargent College. She lives in Houston, TX and enjoys spending quality time with family and friends. Mary is the treasurer of FLIP, a student organization that welcomes first-generation students and creates a safe space for them to make connections and friendships. Outside of school, Mary loves to explore new restaurants and outings and repping BU at hockey games. She hopes to one day become a healthcare professional and serve back to the communities that she gets to build connections with.

Hello! My name is Peishi Liu student studying in Questrom, concentrating in Law. On campus, I am part of Alpha Phi Omega, a national service fraternity serving the greater Boston area, and an advocate for holistic health through Student Wellbeing. Outside of academics, I enjoy some light retail therapy and gardening.

Quinn (she/they) is a rising senior from Greater Los Angeles, California. They love film and television, cooking, and their incredible group of friends. They hope to leverage their psychology and political science studies in a career in advocacy. They are thrilled to work with an ambitious and compassionate group of ambassadors as PRO Captain this year. When not on shift at the CCD, Quinn can be found practicing with Fusion Dance Troupe, working in the lab, or watching a movie (good or bad) at Coolidge Theater.

Rachel Yu is an aspiring business professional specializing in accounting and information systems. Originally from Queens, New York, she spent most of her childhood and teenage years in Taipei, Taiwan. She will be happy to share her list of most authentic Taiwanese boba shops in Boston if you ask her. Actively involved in campus life, Rachel has served as an analyst in BU Consulting Group, Finance and Investment Club, and LOCK Honors Society. When not immersed in financial data, Rachel finds herself in the a cappella group Mustard Seeds, Taiwanese Student Associations, Questrom Peer Advising, and CRU.

Sophia Cheng is from the Bay Area in California. She is currently a junior pursuing a BS in Business Administration with concentrations in accounting and finance, and BA in Visual Arts. Venessa Odera is originally from Kenya and grew up in Plano, Texas. At Boston University, she has been deeply involved in community service and mentorship. Serving as an ambassador for the Kilachand Honors College as well, Venessa helps incoming students and their families transition into the program by hosting welcoming meet-and-greet events. Through the Petey Greene Program, she had the opportunity to tutor students and support staff at a local juvenile center, reinforcing her commitment to educational equity. In her free time, she enjoys attending concerts, exploring new cuisines, and guessing plot twists in documentaries. After graduation, Venessa plans to pursue a career in public policy, leveraging data analytics to advocate for social justice and drive meaningful change.

In their free time, they enjoy birding, visiting beaches, finding new cafes, watching movies (especially bad 90s), and collecting trinkets.

Yihan Yang is an aspiring business student concentrating in Marketing and Accounting. Originally from China Nanjing and raised in Indiana, Yihan has embraced diverse cultures and experiences, having lived with families of different backgrounds. Yihan is the marketing chair for Student Alumni Association. She is also a member of BU badminton team. Outside of school, she enjoys trying all kinds of fun activities and food in Boston.
